Q: up2date on RH 8.0 enters an infinite loop.

A: The error handling of up2date on RH 8.0 is flawed - this problem 
   can be caused by several different problems. Please post a
   tcpdump of the client-server traffic as per BUGS document.


Q: up2date on RH 8.0 crashes with an error that ends something like this :

     File "/usr/lib/python2.2/xmlrpclib.py", line 390, in feed
       self._parser.Parse(data, 0)
   xml.parsers.expat.ExpatError: not well-formed (invalid token): line 1, column 0

A: Read the INSTALL document, near the line :

   "Add "rpm" and "hdr" types to /etc/mime.types as application/octet-stream"

   it will answer all your questions on this issue.
